Naina was cleaning her book shelf,suddenly she comes across an old diary of her...it was in a bit bad condition. She had not opened this diary since long..she didn't even remember this diary, which was once an important part of her life.......now she is married n busy with her life n 2 kids.....she was turning the pages of the old diary...on one page she saw an old wrapper of '' kit kat'' chocolate.....she remembered that hot noon of May , 20 years back, when she was in the college....
Naina............she belonged to a semi modern traditional family....they lived out of their home state..n used to visit her grandparents n uncles aunts during summer vacations......she remembers this boy who was a relative of her......at that time she was in 6 th standard...they visited their grandma during their summer vacations....it was very hot in andhra at that time n it was cashew season..........her grandma had cashew plantations.......
one fine afternoon she too went to the plantation to pick up cashews.....she was with her other cousins,.....suddenly clouds appeared, they started collecting cashew kernels faster....in the meantime grandma came nd it started raining too.......her grandma told everybody to return home...........they were disappointed but started walking towards home.....on the way her grandma told her that ' Rajan ' has come.....
Naina suddenly remembers Rajan......she walks fast towards home as she had not seen Rajan for almost 3 years......she was keen to know how he look like now....as she reached home she was fully wet in rain, her small sleeveless green frock was wet n water was dripping from her hair..... she entered the house.....her eyes fell on Rajan....their eyes locked....they could not take their eyes off from each other for a while...........Rajan gave a small smile...Naina smiled back.... they didn't say any word....they were simply smiling ..they watched each other hiding themselves away from others eyes......naina can never forget that wet rainy evening n also Rajan's ever watching eyes.
Years passed by.....her father wanted her to get settled in andhra, so she came to her uncle's place to stay n do her further studies....
It was during her 2nd year exams.....that day she had english exam....she met her frnds n decided to walk with them to the bus stand from where she had to take a bus home.....normally she never uses this road to the bus stop, but that day with her frnds she was walking through the bus complex......as a bus passed by, she saw a handsome guy , she couldn't take her eyes off him.....the guy too was smiling at her.............but Naina was not sure whether the guy was looking at her or somebody else.....she turned back n saw if somebody else was coming.................but there was nobody.....he was smiling at her......Naina was very excited that such a handsome guy was looking at her.....she too thought of flirting b'coz he was an unknown n even if she flirts nobody will know of that ...so she was on a safe side...she smiled back.....her frnds were noticing that guy too..........n asked Naina if she knew that guy........naina said 'no'.... they asked '' then why is he smiling at u?''
Naina said ...'' I dont know''.
Again a bus passed by n the guy was gone.........naina thought '' OOO missed''.....
..suddenly she heard somebody calling her name, '' Naina'' she was surprised, for a while she was scared '' maybe somebody has seen me smiling at the guy '' ..she looked back.................Her breath stopped for a while....this was the same guy who was smiling at her........
naina was searching her memory,'' who is this guy, n hw does he know my name?''
she slowly said '' ya, I m naina, but who r u?''
The guy smiled and said '' didn't u recognise me?''
naina said..' no'.......
the guy gave a naughty smile n said,'' I m rajan''
.............naina couldn't believe her ears....she was cold on that hot afternoon...............she was embarrassed that she flirted with Rajan, she was cursing herself and thinking ' what he must be thinking of me?.....GOD why did I do this? why I got such a weird idea,,,I never flirted with anybody.why ? why? why I thought of doing this today???..' she greeted him...
Naina totally forgot her frnds....Rajan said..'' hey ur frnds r going?''
she looked at her frnds n waved them bye....
she said to rajan'' ur frnds must be waiting for u''...
rajan said.'' no, nothing like that, where r u going now?''
She said..'' to the bus stop ''..
.he said..'' can I walk with u till there?''
she smiled ..they started walking.............normally naina walks very fast but that day that moment she was really taking small steps.... she doesn't want time to fly...she simply wished if time could stand still for a while..........he said..'' u have changed a lot'' she asked'' in which sense?'' he didn't answered, simply smiled....they reached the bus stop............there was a little shop there........
Rajan said..'' what would u like to drink..?''
she said..'' I don't drink pepsi or limca, but u r my guest so I would like to buy something for u..''.
and she bought a chocolate for him....she doesn't remember which chocolate she bought that day......in return Rajan too bought her a chocolate a '' KIT KAT''...she was happy...........bus came....she boarded the bus...Rajan was looking at her..........she waved him..he too...she kept looking at him till the bus moved n he was out of sight....Rajan too was looking at her............their eyes were sad, ............she came home n ate her ''KIT KAT'' but kept the wrapper.............she glued the wrapper in her diary n wrote the whole incident in her diary...............
After that she never saw him till date..........
